Biography: Mr. Oldhouser started his legal career as an associate with Gebhardt & Smith in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1994, he was elected as a partner at Gebhardt & Smith and in 1995, he left to join Naka, Huttar & Oldhouser, LLP.
Mr. Oldhouser represents financial institutions in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia in connection with a variety of commercial loan transactions, including real estate, corporate and small business, and asset-based loans. Matters handled by Mr. Oldhouser include loan closings, the redocumentation of troubled loans, and real estate and personal property foreclosure actions. He also has assisted financial institutions in the drafting of form loan documents for commercial lending and factoring transactions, including shelf documents for commercial and standby letters of credit. Mr. Oldhouser also represents individuals in estate planning matters.
Mr. Oldhouser is a member of the Real Property, Planning and Zoning Section of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Real Property and Business Law Sections of the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
He has lectured on and prepared materials for seminars on numerous topics relating to the documentation of commercial loan transactions, including residential construction lending, title insurance, perfection of liens and security interests under the Uniform Commercial Code, environmental laws, hidden liens and letters of credit.
Mr. Oldhouser is also on the board of St. Paul Lutheran School in Catonsville, Maryland.
